“World’s Greatest Horseman”
That is what Jim Simpson is in Marsha Johnson’s opinion.
Marsha first saw Jim present a horsemanship clinic in Abilene, Texas almost 20 years ago. After several years of her persistent invitations to hold clinics in Central Texas, he gave in.
Each November for the last 15 years, Jim Simpson travels from Arizona to Marsha Johnson’s arenas to offer clinics in western horsemanship, cow horse training, cutting, reining, and barrel racing.
Jim has trained and shown horses at the highest level. He is currently based in Wickenburg, AZ. He does not need business cards or a website. Clients find their way to him through word of mouth from decades of satisfied customers and from his victories in the show pens.
He is renown in cowboy circles for moving young horses through the basics to competitive levels. He has taken on problem horses and transformed most into the quality finished horse the owners envisioned.
In spite of his national and regional successes in equine training and competition, Jim Simpson remains low-key, soft-spoken and approachable by horsemen of all riding levels. His clinics at the Flying M Ranch are remarkably priced for a horseman of his caliber.
At Jim’s clinics, he works with a group of riders on the things each person wishes to improve with his/her horse. Riders receive individual attention from Jim. They put their horses through their paces, while other participants observe and learn. He can work with a student at any riding skill level. Within a three-day clinic, riders can improve their horsemanship skills.
