with Jim Wallace
Jim devoted several years to forming and organizing the National Ranch Cutting Horse Association, where he now serves as president. In 2006 Jim hit the show circuit and campaigned Yubas Smoke to the NRCHA World Champion Junior Cutting Horse; Chula Clark, the Reserve World Champion Junior Cutting Horse, Stylish Legs, the World Champion Senior Cutting Horse and Reserve Champion Halter Mare, Thispeptohandles, the Reserve World Champion Senior Cutting horse; Yubasan, the World Champion Open Cutting Horse and World Champion Halter Stallion. Also in 2006, Jim was named the All-Around Cowboy for the NRCHA.
Jim started taking outside horses from neighboring ranches to break and train while still in high school. He then put himself through college training horses and trained for the public until 1985. This included an extremely diversified clientele from halter, roping, pleasure, barrel, reining, cutters, to even a stint of training race horses. “I feel like this experience of training for the public, my education, and growing up on a 10,000 acre ranch where horses were used everyday has given me an unparalleled background to work with other horse people.”
Jim has been an officer and served on the board of directors of various horse associations. He has judged the state 4-H Horse Show twice and has been an approved judge of the National Cutting Horse Association, American Quarter Horse Association and the American Cutting Horse Association.
Today, Jim spends much of his time training his own horses, giving private cutting lessons, and judging horse shows.
Cutting lessons with Jim start at $50.
